Waklert Guide: How Does It Compare to Modafinil?

The market is flooded with nootropics, brain enhancing supplements, herbs, and concoctions, and all sorts of potions that promise to make your brain work better. Waklert is just one in the sea of many ‘cognitive enhancers’. And it gets pretty messy. If you have been around the nootropic community, you are probably either:

A. Super Confused

B. A Self-Proclaimed Expert On All Things Nootropic-Related

I am not sure which is worse. But in this guide, rather than making myself out to be the doctor that I’m not (yet), I hope to make Waklert (and its cousin Modafinil) at least a tiny bit more understandable. So without further ado, here is your Waklert 101. Welcome!

Modafinil, Armodafinil, And Some History To Help You Understand Better

Back in the 70s, a French laboratory was looking for a wakefulness-promoting agent that would not have the awful side effects amphetamine (Adderall) has. To this day, Adderall is one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world. They give these pills away like candy but they can have some truly nasty consequences. Cardiovascular problems of all sorts, weight fluctuations, gastrointestinal problems (most of which much worse than simple nausea), not to mention dependence, addiction, and psychological damage.

Although Adderall has many more uses than simple wakefulness-promotion, the French concentrated on that. They first synthesized a compound called Adrafinil. It showed some impressive results for regulating sleep cycles and promoting wakefulness. Then it turned out that Adrafinil was not actually an active compound. When it enters your system it becomes metabolised into Modafinil.

Now, the name Modafinil is deceptive because there are actually two molecules. The right and left enantiomer are both called Modafinil but they have different properties. Why is that? Well, they are the same compound, virtually the same molecule except they are mirror images of each other. And they can’t change which one they are unless you modify them chemically. The right enantiomer stays right, and the left is still left. Armodafinil, the active ingredient in Waklert, is just the right enantiomer.

Why Waklert Is More Potent Than Modalert

Right and left enantiomers don’t matter as much when we are talking chemistry. They are the same molecule with the same chemical properties. But inside your body, they behave differently. There are compounds that can either be a life-saving medication or a deadly poison, depending on the enantiomer. Thankfully, one enantiomer can’t just turn into the other or else a major side effect of some medication would be sudden death.

In the case of Modafinil, the right enantiomer happens to be the more active one. Some even claim that the left Modafinil does nothing at all. That is why the same amount of Waklert gives you a stronger effect compared to Modalert. Of course, this makes dosage and preventing tolerance a bit trickier. On the other hand, you also get more for your money’s worth. Plus, your liver does not suffer as much. It might not seem like a lot but you can thank me when you are 50 and you don’t get cirrhosis.

So What Exactly Is Waklert?

Waklert is the generic Armodafinil produced by Sun Pharma. The original drug was developed by Cephalon and they are still the only ones who sell it. The FDA recently approved one more generic producer but they are far from coming out with a significantly cheaper product. At this point, all you can buy in the US and in Europe is Cephalon’s product plus the generic in some places (quite rarely).

Sun Pharmaceuticals is the largest pharma company in India. Because India has lousy patent laws, the companies there could produce and sell patented drugs without any issue. Sun Pharma started making Modafinil and Armodafinil long before the patent had expired. They now have a decade of experience making it which literally makes them the second most reliable supplier after the people who invented the drug (Cephalon).

You can only buy Waklert online since Sun Pharma has not been allowed to import it in the US. Modafinil and Armodafinil vendors on the Internet are respectable and often quite popular, too. It is a growing business that caters to the notoriously picky Reddit community plus a bunch of equally picky busy professionals and top university students. There is nothing ‘dodgy Internet pharmacy’ about these suppliers, as long as you choose the good ones, of course.

Waklert Vendors And Getting The Best Deal

We already have plenty of vendor reviews here on Biology Boost. Although we are usually talking about Modafinil, all of those places offer Armodafinil as well. Here are my basic criteria for finding good Waklert vendors online:

  • You should be able to find information about them online. The nootropic community members are more than happy to share their opinion on the Internet. If there is nothing on a certain vendor either they are too new, or they are just one of these dodgy shops that open for a few weeks, scam as many people as they can, and finally close down.
  • They must have an excellent refund or reshipment policy in case your order gets seized. Although there will be no consequences for you if the customs seize your order, it is not cool to waste the money as well. That is why you should make sure that the vendor is ready to refund or reship. This is standard practice among all reputable online pharmacies.
  • The payment options might be limited but the page should definitely be protected. If not, your credit card information is as good as stolen. For extra safety, I like to use bitcoins. Most vendors offer some discount if you pay in bitcoins plus the anonymity and credit card safety are unequalled.

We recommend getting your Waklert here.

Waklert Dosage

If you have only used Modafinil, you will find Waklert to be a bit trickier. Normally, 150 mg of Waklert acts the same way 200 mg of Modafinil would. The thing is, not everyone takes 200 mg of Modafinil. I, for one, am all about taking only 100 mg for as long as you can. This way if you have to move up because of tolerance, you go to 200 and not 300 or 400. To me, 400 mg of Modafinil is the absolute maximum that I am not going to go above.

Going back to Waklert, it comes in 150 mg pills. These roughly equal 200 mg of Modafinil. For first-time users, it is an absolute must to start with half a tablet. Granted, cutting it is a bit tricky. You always lose a few grams when you break tablets. To keep as much as possible use a utility knife on a flat metal or porcelain surface. The sound it will make when it touches the hard surface is heinous but it is worth it. You get to cut the tablet precisely and without wasting precious Waklert.

The drug takes around an hour to first take effect and around two to three hours to reach peak concentration. In this, it is similar to Modafinil. The same goes for the time it takes to come down. 8 hours are what most people get out of a single pill (or ideally half a pill). If you are having trouble falling asleep and you can’t seem to shake off the Waklert, try having a meal. Eating something sends most of the blood right to your stomach so you can finally get some zzz’s.

Preventing Waklert Tolerance

Although you can’t become addicted to Waklert per se, tolerance is an issue for most users. You have to take conscious steps to avoid it if you want to use Waklert on a long-term basis.

Firstly and most importantly, do not take Waklert on two consecutive days if you can avoid it. If you absolutely need it, make sure to give your body at least two to three days before you take the drug again. Every two months do a ‘cleansing week’ where you are not using Waklert or any other cognitive enhancer. You can plan that week ahead to be a time where you don’t have as much work. Make it about relaxation and catching up on healthy habits. This would be a good time to take up going to the gym once again or to start eating a little better.

The other key factor in preventing Waklert tolerance is starting small. You don’t need two pills right off the bat. You don’t even need one full one. Cut it up, take 75 mg, and if that works for you stick to it. Be very careful of increasing the dosage. If you need to, first try cleansing for a week (or even a bit more than that). Only increase the dose if the Waklert still doesn’t work for you after that.

Finally, you should know that Waklert is a great way to improve concentration and productivity. Ultimately, though, nothing can replace a balanced lifestyle. The Waklert is not that crucial to your well-being for you to pop it every morning. Every now and then is fine but remember to take long-term care of your mind and body as well!
