Wake Up: Morning Nootropic Stack for a Productive Day
In society, there’s a constant need to work faster, more efficiently and get more done. Everyone is searching for an edge. I’m not into “life hacks” or guru nonsense. However, I’m more productive when I follow a few basic things. We all have the same 24 hours to work with. That’s why starting my morning off right with my nootropic stack is the biggest thing that helps me be more productive.
Here’s exactly how I tackle my morning.
The Night Before
The best day’s for me have always started with preparation the night before. I’m at my best when I get a full 7-8 hours of sleep. Not everyone needs that amount. I know many people who work well of 5-6 hours of sleep. That’s not me.
The biggest takeaway here is to know yourself and know how much sleep you need. Get that amount.
Another piece of advice I hear quite often is to write down what you want to accomplish for the next day. I’ve experimented with this before but have never been able to sustain it as a habit. However, I will visualize and make a mental checklist of what I want my day to look like. I’ll run through important checkpoints that I’d like to hit throughout the day.
- Wake up by 8 am.
- Skype call at 12:30 pm
- Have two articles written by 2 pm
- One article will be on X, the other article will be on Y.
- Meet with Friends at 7 pm
Nothing fancy, but it helps me stay focused. This takes out the guesswork when I wake up. I’m not wandering around the house thinking what am I going to do today. Instead, I wake up and hit the ground running.
When I wake up the first thing I focus on is getting my body right. If your body is right then your mind has less to focus on. It also allows your mind to function properly.
For me, that starts with going to the bathroom and then drinking 32 ounces of water. After that, I’ll make a pot of coffee.
This next part is personal preference. Having a good breakfast for me is essential. A good clean breakfast gives me the energy to power through the day till about 5 pm.
Some of my friends prefer to only have coffee and coconut oil before having a late lunch around 1-2 PM. Find what works best for you.
What’s in my Morning Stack?
This has changed over time for me, but I’ll go over what I currently take and when. This is my typical routine for a day when I need to get a lot done. Normal days everything stays the same but I leave out the Modafinil.
During this time I will also take my normal Kratom dosage of 3-4g or 1 level teaspoon. The toss and wash method works best for me but there are different ways to take Kratom. This gives time for both substances to settle in while I’m making breakfast.
Next is breakfast, which typically consists of eggs cooked in coconut oil, chopped veggies and some oatmeal or potatoes. Occasionally I’ll throw in bacon or go all out with steak and eggs. I find the coconut oil helps to curb hunger later in the day and helps smooth out the onset of the Modafinil and Kratom. That’s why I’ll also add a scoop of it into my coffee.
After I’ve eaten and sat down to work I’ll go ahead and take L-Theanine. This can be taken before or after you eat but I prefer to take it after. The effects of the L-Theanine are more subtle than the Modafinil or Kratom. Mainly it helps with evening out the effects of Caffeine.
Since it’s an amino acid it also helps improve brain function, assists in building muscle and losing fat.
This is the morning stack that currently works best for me. Keep in mind I’ve experimented for over 3 years with this routine. I encourage you to do the same and find out what works best for you.
Once I’ve taken Kratom, Modafinil, L-Theanine, eaten and drank my coffee I’ll start to work. In total my morning routine takes between 30-60 minutes. In addition to the supplements for my body, I will also supplement my mind with a podcast or some light music. This wakes up my brain.
If you work in an office and have a commute then take your coffee for the road. Use the drive to calm your mind and use the morning stack to dominate the day.
Around 4 PM I’ll start to get hungry. By this time most of my work is finished. This means I can go ahead and have a meal. I’ll eat then prepare for the gym. If I have some work to do or I’m going out later I’ll take some Kratom when I return. This is usually smaller than my first dosage and is about 2-3 g.
